News 8th July - Kit & Wickets

We want your old D&G kit

Now we have completed 95% of our new kit distribution, we will be collecting all old D&G branded kit to donate overseas via our partners at Cricket Kindness. If you have any surplus items to donate, especially the white playing shirts that were given out previously, please do bring it in the next time you are at Spencer. The coaches will be able to point you to the nearest collection box.

More details of the work that Cricket Kindness does can be found here.  Please do help us to help them by donating your old clothing.

We rarely write about individual achievements at Spencer (if anyone want to take on the task of summarising 50+ matches each week please do get in touch) but there is an exception to every rule. U16 player Max Hunt who has broken into our Adult 1st XI this summer produced an outstanding performance this past weekend against Banstead in taking 8/75 in 26.4 overs, one of the best stat lines in the club’s history, an incredible feat at his age and at that level. Sadly what the cricketing gods give, they taketh away with the game ending as a tie with 217 runs for each side, our team being a batter short due to injury.
